Industry Statistics
Welcome to the Industry Statistics section of the IPSO website. This section is divided into two categories, one containing statistics on payments in Ireland over a number of years, the other containing the latest EU statistics. In each case statistics are available for electronic payments, card payments, ATMs and paper-based payments.
IPSO gathers information on payments in Ireland from its member banks. This information is submitted to the Central Bank of Ireland and in turn to the European Central Bank, which is the source of the data for the EU statistics.
Statistics may be accessed by clicking directly on one of the links in the table below or by utilising the menu on the left of the screen. A ‘printer-friendly’ option is available for all tables and charts in this section.
